As tensions rise between Iran and Israel, Iran launched over 400 missiles and rockets toward Israel. Sirens blared across the country, and Israeli citizens were instructed to take shelter in bunkers. Israel’s defense systems were quickly activated to intercept the attack. This marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two nations, prompting the US to issue a stern warning of “severe consequences.”
The Israeli military confirmed, “A short while ago, missiles were launched from Iran toward the State of Israel. Israelis are instructed to stay alert and follow the Home Front Command’s guidelines precisely. The IDF is taking all necessary steps to protect the civilians of Israel.”
Millions of Israelis are currently seeking refuge in shelters. The Israeli government reassured its citizens with a tweet saying, “We stand with every one of you.”
Iran, in an official statement, said, “In retaliation for the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah, and Martyr Nilforooshan, we targeted the heart of the occupied territories.” Iran’s mission to the United Nations justified the attack as a “legal and rational response.”
Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been moved to a secure location amid the missile strikes.
The United States, through Defense Secretary Lloyd J Austin, warned Iran of severe repercussions should the situation worsen. “The US is well-positioned to defend its personnel, allies, and partners in the region,” Austin stated.
