India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been named the Player of the Series for his outstanding performance. Pandya scored 118 runs in the series, boasting a strike rate of over 222. Along with this, he took 1 wicket and made 5 crucial catches. India Defeats Bangladesh by 133 Runs in Third T20I, Secures 3-0 Series Whitewash
India secured a dominant 133-run victory against Bangladesh in the third T20I, completing a 3-0 whitewash in the series. Sanju Samson led the charge with a magnificent 111, while Ravi Bishnoi’s 3/30 was instrumental in the win.
It has been a tough series and tour for Bangladesh. Coming off a high after defeating Pakistan in their own backyard, nothing seemed to go their way in India. This 133-run loss marks Bangladesh’s biggest defeat in T20Is by run margin and stands as India’s third-biggest win.
The match was effectively over once Bangladesh began their chase. These days, 298 is difficult to chase even in ODIs, and for T20Is, it proved nearly impossible. Bangladesh couldn’t establish momentum, and partnerships were lacking. The only notable stand was a 50-run partnership between Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy. Outside of this, Bangladesh collapsed—losing 59 runs for the first three wickets and then 27 runs for the last four. Only Das and Hridoy crossed 20 runs, which doesn’t reflect how the surface actually played, as it was decent for batting.
Mahmudullah, playing his final T20I, would have wanted a more memorable farewell. Unfortunately, it will be remembered for all the wrong reasons, as this defeat will likely haunt the team for some time. This match possibly marks the end of an era for Bangladesh cricket, leaving them to search for their next Shakib, Rahim, Tamim, or Mahmudullah.
Ravi Shastri referred to this Indian squad as the “C” team, highlighting that this was far from India’s best side on paper. Nevertheless, India’s bench strength was on full display. After posting 297, India never felt under pressure. Mayank Yadav bowled with pace and aggression, taking two wickets, while Ravi Bishnoi dismantled Bangladesh’s middle order, securing three wickets. India’s bowlers remained relentless, showcasing determination despite the comfortable lead. This was India’s 10th consecutive T20I win and their 7th consecutive home series win.
Earlier, after winning the toss, India wasted no time showing their intent. Although they lost an early wicket, the following batsmen played freely with clarity. Sanju Samson’s brilliant 111, supported by Suryakumar Yadav’s 75, helped India finish just three runs shy of 300. Tanzim Hasan Sakib picked up three wickets, but it was a day that the entire Bangladeshi bowling unit would want to forget.
Ravi Bishnoi, having reached the milestone of 50 T20I wickets, expressed his joy during the post-match interview. He acknowledged the importance of internal competition within the team, pushing him to perform consistently. Bishnoi emphasized that playing regularly helps him improve and refine his skills.
Sanju Samson, named the Player of the Match, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from his teammates and the dressing room. Samson admitted it can be frustrating when he doesn’t deliver as expected, but with experience, he has learned to manage pressure. He also highlighted how the leadership supported him, even when things didn’t go well in the previous series. Representing India, Samson said, comes with pressure, but focusing on the process has helped him stay grounded and perform better.
