Aakhir Tak – In Depth:
In a rare show of unity, thousands of Indian-origin Hindus and Sikhs protested in Brampton, Canada, after a Khalistani mob attacked the Hindu Sabha temple. The incident, which took place over the weekend, motivated the community to come together and demonstrate against violence and police inaction. Organized by the Coalition of Hindus in North America (CoHNA), the protest highlighted solidarity in the face of aggression. Protestors emphasized that Khalistanis do not represent Sikhs and made it clear that Sikhs stand with Hindus against extremism.
The protests criticized the Peel Police for failing to protect the Hindu community and being biased. “Khalistanis are not Sikhs. Sikhs are our brothers,” a protestor stated, stressing that the incident should not be perceived as a communal conflict. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faced backlash for not condemning the Khalistani actions, which many believe stems from his political affiliations.
