Hathras Bus Crash: 15 Dead, Many Injured

A tragic accident occurred in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras when a roadways bus crashed into a mini-truck on National Highway 93, resulting in the death of at least 15 people and injuring many others. The victims were traveling from Hathras to Agra, while those on the mini-truck were returning to Sewala village after lunch.

The accident occurred as the bus attempted to overtake the mini-truck, colliding with it from behind. The impact was severe, leaving the truck and bus mangled on the busy highway.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased and ordered quick relief operations. He announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for those seriously injured.

Emergency services rushed to the site, with District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police reaching the district hospital to oversee the medical aid provided to the injured. SP Nipun Agarwal stated that the accident was caused when the bus attempted to overtake the mini-truck on the Agra-Aligarh National Highway.

The condition of four injured individuals remains critical, and authorities are ensuring they receive the best possible care. The local administration is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.

This tragic event serves as a somber reminder of the need for road safety measures and adherence to traffic regulations, especially on busy highways.
