BJP Labels Congress as ‘Anti-Women Party’
The BJP shared a video of a Congress worker being ‘molested’ at an event in Haryana, labeling Congress as the most ‘anti-women party.’ Congress MP Kumari Selja condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the accused.
On Saturday, during the Haryana Assembly elections, the BJP released a video showing a woman Congress worker being harassed in the presence of Congress leader Deepender Hooda and others. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla questioned Hooda’s silence and alleged that many female Congress leaders had left the party due to misconduct.
“A very shameful video has surfaced. It is circulating in the media. On a Congress platform in the presence of Deepender Hooda, a female leader was openly harassed. If women in Congress are not safe on public platforms, how can the state’s women feel secure?” Poonawalla stated.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini commented that it is in the culture and DNA of Congress to disrespect women, the poor, and Dalits. “If we receive a complaint in this regard, we will take action. Our government will take strict action and not spare anyone. Women are an integral part of society,” Saini affirmed.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Kumari Selja mentioned she had spoken to the woman involved. Selja said, “I spoke to her; she told me that some people were touching her and trying to remove her from the stage. If something like this happens to a woman today, it is highly condemnable. Action should be taken on this.”
