Fasting Rules for Hartalika Teej 2024

Women observing Hartalika Teej follow a strict fast without consuming food or water for 24 hours, from sunrise on Teej to sunrise on Chaturthi. The primary rules for fasting are:

Preparation: Before fasting, consume satvik food and prepare for the rituals.
Sargi: Eat Sargi between 4:30 AM and 5:16 AM on the day of fasting. This meal helps sustain energy throughout the fast.
Fasting: Refrain from food and water all day. If needed due to health conditions, fruits or juice may be consumed after Puja.
Breaking the Fast: Break the fast at sunrise on Chaturthi by eating soaked black gram and cucumber.

Puja: The Puja involves clay idols of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Ganesha, performed during Pradosh Kaal.
Solah Shringar: Women dress in new clothes and adorn themselves with solah shringar, offering these items to Goddess Parvati.
