7 Workers Killed in Wall Collapse in Mehsana
A tragic accident occurred at a construction site in Gujarat’s Mehsana district when a wall collapsed, killing 7 workers. The workers were digging a pit for an underground tank when the wall suddenly gave way, burying them under loose soil.
The incident happened near Kadi town, located approximately 37 km from the district headquarters. According to District Development Officer Dr. Hasrat Jasmine, around 9-10 workers were trapped at the time of the collapse. So far, 6 bodies have been recovered, and a 19-year-old boy was rescued alive, giving hope to the rescue teams.
Superintendent of Police Tarun Duggal confirmed the death toll and stated that the rescue operation is ongoing. Authorities are racing against time to save the remaining workers trapped under the debris. The rescue teams, equipped with heavy machinery, are continuing their efforts to remove the debris and ensure the safety of the survivors.
Investigations into the cause of the collapse are underway, and the families of the victims are being provided with necessary assistance. The collapse occurred in the vicinity of the under-construction tank, and its sudden failure resulted in this devastating accident.
