Aakhir Tak – In Depth
BJP MLA Gajendrasinh Parmar in Gujarat faces serious charges of rape and intimidation. The complaint comes from a Dalit woman, leading to police action after the High Court questioned their failure to register an FIR.
According to the complaint, the MLA summoned the woman to his quarters in Gandhinagar on July 30, 2020. There, he allegedly engaged in physical relations with her under the pretense of marriage. Afterward, Parmar reportedly ignored her phone calls and threatened her, stating he would not spare her if she spoke out.
In 2021, the woman filed a special criminal application in the High Court, urging the police to register an FIR. Additionally, Parmar is embroiled in another case in Rajasthan concerning the molestation of a minor. In April 2023, the Gujarat High Court dismissed his anticipatory bail plea related to this case.
