Bihar Teen Dies in Fake Doctor Surgery

A tragic incident unfolded in Bihar’s Saran district where a 15-year-old boy lost his life after a botched surgery performed by a fake doctor. The unqualified doctor, identified as Ajit Kumar Puri, allegedly performed the surgery by following YouTube tutorials on his mobile phone, leading to fatal consequences. The boy was initially admitted to Puri’s clinic in Madhaura after complaining of stomach pain and vomiting.

According to the family, the boy was subjected to gall bladder stone removal surgery without their knowledge or consent. During the procedure, Puri was reportedly seen watching YouTube videos for guidance. As the boy’s condition worsened, the family confronted Puri, who dismissively asked, “Am I the doctor here or you?” Despite the deteriorating situation, Puri made an unsuccessful attempt to transfer the boy to a hospital in Patna, where the teen died en route. Following the incident, Puri fled, abandoning the boy’s body.

The bereaved family has lodged a complaint against Puri, accusing him of gross negligence and malpractice. They allege that Puri was neither qualified nor experienced to conduct such medical procedures, leading to the boy’s untimely death. The local police have registered a case against Puri and his clinic staff. Raids are underway to apprehend the accused, and the boy’s body has been sent for a postmortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.

This tragic event has raised serious concerns about the prevalence of unqualified individuals posing as medical professionals in Bihar. The authorities are urged to take stringent actions against such offenders to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
