Elon Musk Invites Kamala Harris After Unscripted Trump Interview
Elon Musk, the tech mogul and CEO of Tesla, extended an invitation to Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, following a whirlwind interview with former President Donald Trump on X Spaces. Musk’s interaction with Trump was billed as an “unscripted” and “no-limits” conversation, covering a range of topics, including immigration and economic policies.
Taking to X, Musk expressed his eagerness to host Kamala Harris on the platform as well, writing, “Happy to host Kamala on X Spaces too.” This invitation came shortly after Musk’s interview with Trump, which faced technical difficulties but still managed to capture the attention of millions.
The interview, delayed by over 40 minutes due to technical glitches, garnered 73 million views. Musk later claimed that more than 200 million people tuned in, although the glitches were attributed to a cyber-attack. Despite these issues, Trump’s appearance on X marked his return to the platform after being banned following the January 6 Capitol riots.
Throughout the conversation, Trump discussed several critical topics, including his plans for immigration. He vowed to execute the “largest deportation in the history of this country,” emphasizing his commitment to stringent immigration policies. Trump also criticized Kamala Harris for her lack of public interviews since announcing her presidential campaign, calling her a proponent of the “radical left.”
Trump’s remarks about Harris were pointed, describing her nomination as a “coup” and questioning her leadership. “This was a coup of a president of the United States,” Trump asserted during the interview. His comments come at a time when Harris’s campaign is gaining momentum, positioning her as a strong contender against Trump in the upcoming elections.
The event not only highlighted Trump’s return to X but also underscored the ongoing political tensions between him and Harris. Responding to the interview, Harris’s campaign spokesperson, Joseph Costello, criticized both Trump and Musk, labeling them as “self-obsessed rich guys” who are disconnected from the realities of the middle class.
“Trump’s entire campaign is in service of people like Elon Musk and himself—self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024,” Costello stated.
As the political landscape heats up, Musk’s invitation to Harris could set the stage for another highly anticipated discussion on X, further intertwining the realms of technology and politics.
