Delhi Police arrested five individuals for robbing a retired DRDO scientist of Rs 2 crore in cash and gold in Rohini. One of the arrested was a former employee of the scientist who had provided inside information. The robbery took place on October 18 in Prashant Vihar when five men, posing as delivery personnel, entered the house and held the scientist and his wife at knifepoint. They restrained the couple and looted the cash and gold.

The police arrested two key suspects, Jasmeen Singh alias Gifty and Gaurav Kawatra, the scientist’s former employee, who played a pivotal role in the crime by providing details of the house. CCTV footage helped the police trace the culprits to Karol Bagh.

During the investigation, Rs 10.15 lakh in cash was recovered, along with Rs 1.1 crore and other items. The police have also frozen Rs 2.89 lakh in a bank account linked to the accused.

Three more suspects were apprehended with Rs 1.1 crore. The police stated that these individuals were part of a well-planned heist, and further investigation is ongoing. Crime Branch officials mentioned that the suspects were arrested after a tip-off that they were traveling from Haryana to Delhi with the stolen money.
