Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Rahul Gandhi over the remarks he made during his recent visit to the US. Addressing an election rally in Jammu, PM Modi said that the Congress can sacrifice faith and culture for a few votes anytime.
He said, “Congress can put our faith and culture at stake for a few votes anytime. The Congress heir went abroad and said that our ‘devi-devta’ are not gods. It is an insult to our faith.”
The Prime Minister added that this wasn’t just a mistake or off-the-cuff remark, but part of a planned conspiracy. He stated, “This is a Naxal mindset that has been imported from other religions and countries. This Naxal mindset of Congress has insulted the Dogra culture of Jammu.”
During an event in Texas, Rahul Gandhi had said, “In India, a ‘Devta’ refers to a person whose internal feelings are the same as his external expression, meaning he is completely transparent. It does not mean God.”
Modi also alleged that every vote given to Congress would implement the manifesto of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the National Conference (NC). He claimed that Congress, PDP, and NC were conspiring to bring back Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Every vote given to Congress will implement the PDP and NC manifesto. They want to reinstate Article 370, which means bringing bloodshed back to the valley,” Modi said.
He further added that the Congress-NC alliance was being praised in Pakistan. According to Modi, Pakistan’s Defence Minister openly supported the Congress-NC alliance, claiming their agenda aligned with Pakistan’s.
However, the Prime Minister firmly stated that no power in the world could bring back Article 370. “We will not allow Pakistan’s agenda to be imposed in Jammu and Kashmir. No power in the world can restore Article 370,” he declared.
