Aakhir Tak – In Depth
The growing threat of Khalistani extremism in Canada has been brought to the forefront as Indian-origin Canadian MP Chandra Arya expressed his concerns over the issue. Arya called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government to take concrete steps in addressing this dangerous trend, which has been politically nurtured in Canada.
Arya, a member of Trudeau’s Liberal Party, emphasized in his video statement that Khalistani extremism is a Canadian issue and urged the government to treat it as such. He also mentioned that the Hindu-Canadian community feels increasingly unsafe in the current climate, especially with the recent rise in Khalistani activity.
The MP urged the government and law enforcement agencies to take responsibility and address the problem with a firm hand. Furthermore, Arya encouraged Hindu-Canadians to raise their voices and demand political accountability to safeguard their rights and interests.
Chandra Arya has been a vocal critic of Khalistani extremism, previously condemning attacks on Hindu temples by pro-Khalistan elements. He also shared his own experiences, noting that he had to attend a Hindu event under police protection due to disruptive protests by Khalistani supporters.
The issue of Khalistani extremism and its political backing has strained diplomatic relations between Canada and India. India has consistently urged Canada to act against Khalistani elements, but Ottawa has cited their right to peaceful protest, often ignoring India’s concerns.
