Aakhir Tak – In Depth
On Monday, two IndiGo flights departing from Mumbai faced bomb threats. According to an IndiGo spokesperson, flight 6E 1275 en route to Muscat and flight 6E 56 headed to Jeddah were both subjected to these threats. As per established safety protocols, the aircraft were promptly moved to isolated bays where security checks were initiated. Bomb squads and dog units were deployed to ensure thorough inspections.
Earlier in the day, an Air India flight from Mumbai to New York also encountered a bomb threat. The flight was redirected to Delhi Airport after a bomb threat was received via a tweet. The government’s security regulatory committee ordered the diversion.
This incident follows another bomb threat on October 5, where airports in Gujarat, including Vadodara and Rajkot, were targeted via email, prompting extensive security sweeps.
