- Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge labeled the BJP as a ‘party of terrorists.’
- He dismissed PM Modi’s claims of Congress being an ‘urban Naxal’ party.
- Kharge accused the BJP of involvement in lynchings.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge sharply responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks that Congress is running an “urban Naxal” party. Kharge stated, “Modi always labels Congress as an urban Naxal party. But what about his own party? The BJP is a party of terrorists involved in lynchings. Modi has no right to make such accusations.”
On October 5, PM Modi claimed that Congress is being controlled by a group of urban Naxals and urged people to unite against the party’s “dangerous agenda.” Modi made these comments while addressing a gathering near Washim in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region ahead of the assembly elections.
He stated, “They think that if we all unite, their agenda to divide the country will fail. Everyone can see how closely Congress stands with people who don’t harbor good intentions for India. The Congress wants to keep Dalits as Dalits and the poor as poor. So, beware of Congress. Urban Naxals are running Congress. The party wants to divide the country, so it is trying to divide us. This is the time to come together to foil Congress party’s plot.”
