The Bihar State Health Society (SHS) has announced recruitment for 4,500 Community Health Officer (CHO) positions on a contractual basis. Interested candidates can apply through the official website, shs.bihar.gov.in, by November 21, 2024. This recruitment aims to strengthen rural healthcare under the National Health Mission (NHM).

Age Limits:
Applicants must be at least 21 years old, with the following maximum age limits:

• General male and EWS category: 42 years
• General female and EWS female: 45 years
• BC, EBC male and female: 45 years
• SC/ST male and female: 47 years

Salary and Incentives:
Selected CHOs will receive a monthly salary of ₹40,000, including a fixed payment of ₹32,000 and a performance-based incentive of ₹8,000.

Application Fee:

• Male (General, EWS, EBC, BC): ₹500
• Females, SC/ST, PwBD: ₹250

Eligibility:
Candidates currently or previously employed as CHOs under NHM or SHS in Bihar are not eligible. If a candidate has previously joined and resigned from the CHO role, their application will be rejected, and legal action may follow.
