In a major drug bust, drugs worth Rs 1,800 crore were seized from a factory near Bhopal. The raid was carried out by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). MD (Mephedrone) drugs, a highly dangerous narcotic substance, were being manufactured in the factory. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the illegal drug production.
Gujarat Minister Harsh Sanghvi praised the operation, calling it a significant victory in the fight against drugs. He posted on X (formerly Twitter), “This achievement showcases the relentless efforts of our law enforcement agencies to curb drug trafficking and misuse, safeguarding society’s health and security.”
This raid follows another major drug bust in Delhi last week, where over 560 kilograms of cocaine and 40 kilograms of hydroponic marijuana worth Rs 5,620 crore were seized from Mahipalpur, South Delhi.
Delhi Police officials said that this was the biggest drug seizure in the national capital. Five people, including the alleged mastermind Tushar Goyal (40), were arrested.
