Aakhir Tak – In Depth
Former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai’s Bandra area on Saturday night. The police confirmed on Sunday that this was a contract killing, with potential involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Two suspects have been arrested, while the third remains at large.
The Bishnoi gang, notorious for targeting individuals linked to Bollywood star Salman Khan, is being probed for its role in the murder. According to police, the suspects had planned the murder well in advance, conducting surveillance of the area for 25-30 days before the incident. Law enforcement is now searching for the mastermind and the absconding shooter across multiple states.
Baba Siddique, a prominent political figure who served as an MLA from Bandra (West) for three terms, will be laid to rest at Bada Kabarastan in Mumbai on Sunday evening. The NCP has cancelled all its events to mourn the loss of its leader.
