CPI-ML Leader Shot Dead in Arwal, Murder Suspected to be Revenge
In Arwal district’s Kinjar police station area, CPI-ML leader Sunil Chandravanshi was shot dead by three bike-borne assailants. Sunil was shot six times, with bullets hitting his chest, head, and arms. The incident occurred late Monday night near the rice mill on Imamganj-Karpi Road. The attackers fled the scene brandishing their weapons after committing the crime.
Murder Driven by Revenge
CPI-ML district secretary Jitendra Yadav stated that Sunil Chandravanshi was preparing for a cadre convention and was actively involved in campaigns and movements in the Karpi area. He was returning to his village Chakkan Bigha from Karpi on the evening of the incident when three criminals on a bike opened fire. After Sunil fell to the ground, the assailants shot him six times from close range.
Police Suspect Revenge as Motive
Superintendent of Police Rajendra Kumar Bheel indicated that initial investigations suggest the murder was carried out with a motive of revenge. The police are examining all possible angles and are investigating the background of the deceased. The police have assured that the culprits will be arrested soon. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team is analyzing the crime scene, and actions will be taken based on the findings.
Journey from Maoist to CPI-ML Activist
According to district secretary Yadav, Sunil Chandravanshi joined CPI-ML about ten years ago, leaving his past as a Maoist area commander behind to fight for the people. Before joining CPI-ML, he was associated with the People’s War group.
