According to the police, Srishti had been struggling with mental health issues and was subjected to mental harassment by Aditya. In one incident, Aditya reportedly insulted her in front of others for eating non-vegetarian food. This led to an argument, and Aditya left her midway.

On Sunday evening, Srishti had another argument with Aditya. He left for Delhi around 1 a.m. on Monday. Later, Srishti called Aditya and said she was going to commit suicide. Aditya returned but found her apartment door locked. He broke the lock with the help of a locksmith and found Srishti unconscious.

Srishti’s family filed a police complaint accusing Aditya of continuously harassing and abusing her. Following the complaint, he was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide.
