Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reacted strongly on Wednesday to a Special Court’s order calling for a Lokayukta police investigation into the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment case. He reiterated that he is prepared to face any inquiry.
Responding to the court’s decision, Siddaramaiah stated, “I have already said that I am ready to face an investigation. I am not afraid of a probe. I am ready for a legal fight. I said this yesterday, and I am repeating it again today.”
The Special Court referred the case to the Mysuru Lokayukta police, as the complaint was filed in Mysuru, and the MUDA office is also located there.
The court’s order, delivered by Judge Santhosh Gajanan Bhat, came a day after the Karnataka High Court upheld the Governor’s sanction for an investigation into the case. The allegations involve irregularities in the allotment of 14 sites by MUDA to Siddaramaiah’s wife, BM Parvathi.
This case has become a significant legal challenge for the Chief Minister, yet Siddaramaiah has consistently maintained his readiness to face the investigation. He has expressed confidence in cooperating fully with the legal proceedings and respects the investigative process.
