Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for India on Tuesday after wrapping up a three-day packed visit to the United States. During this visit, the Prime Minister held several bilateral meetings, including with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Before leaving for India, Modi attended the UN’s landmark “Summit of the Future,” held against the backdrop of ongoing global conflicts, including the Israel-Hamas war and the Ukraine crisis.
During his meeting with President Zelenskyy, PM Modi reiterated India’s commitment to finding an early resolution to the Ukraine conflict and restoring peace and stability in the region. This marked the third meeting between the two leaders in about three months. They last met in Kyiv on August 23 during Modi’s visit to Ukraine, and before that, they held talks in Italy’s Apulia during the G7 summit in June.
“Met President @ZelenskyyUa in New York. We are committed to implementing the outcomes of my visit to Ukraine last month to strengthen bilateral relations. Reiterated India’s support for an early resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and restoration of peace and stability,” Modi shared on X.
Zelenskyy also took to social media, saying, “We are actively working to enhance cooperation across various fields, especially on international platforms like the UN and G20. We also discussed the implementation of the Peace Formula and preparations for the second Peace Summit.”
Earlier in the day, Modi addressed the UN’s “Summit of the Future,” focusing on global challenges. He arrived in New York on Saturday after attending the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, where he also held bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden.
