Tesla CEO Elon Musk is set to become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027, according to a report from Dubai-based Informa Connect Academy. Musk’s wealth is growing at an impressive rate of over 110% annually, with his fortune now reaching a staggering $241 billion, as per Bloomberg’s billionaire index.
Following closely behind, Indian industrialist Gautam Adani is poised to be the second person to hit the trillionaire mark, potentially achieving the milestone by 2028. Adani’s wealth is increasing at an even more remarkable rate of 123% annually, making him a strong contender in the race to trillionaire status.
Other billionaires likely to join the trillionaire club by 2030 include Nvidia founder Jensen Huang, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and LVMH’s Bernard Arnault. This forecast reflects a broader trend of rapidly expanding fortunes among the world’s richest individuals.
India’s wealth boom has been in the spotlight, with two major reports highlighting the country’s rapid rise in wealth creation. A Fortune India report revealed that the combined wealth of India’s richest individuals has surged past $1 trillion, reaching $1.19 trillion (Rs 99.86 lakh crore), with 185 dollar billionaires in the nation. Leading this group are Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, each boasting wealth exceeding Rs 10 trillion. The Shapoorji Pallonji family follows closely, with a combined fortune of Rs 3,64,932 crore.
According to the Hurun India Rich List 2024, India has been adding a new billionaire every five days throughout 2023, totaling 1,539 ultra-wealthy individuals with fortunes exceeding Rs 1,000 crore. Bloomberg’s real-time index ranks Mukesh Ambani as the richest Asian, with a net worth of $111 billion, closely followed by Gautam Adani at $99.6 billion.
