A shocking incident has occurred in Hampi, Karnataka, where an Israeli tourist and a homestay owner were gang-raped. According to police, the incident took place near the Tungabhadra Canal, a popular tourist spot near Hampi, on Thursday night. This Hampi Rape case has caused a sensation throughout the area.

Details of the Incident

According to the police, the 27-year-old Israeli tourist and the 29-year-old homestay owner were near Sanapur Lake between 11 PM and 11:30 PM on Thursday night. They were accompanied by three male companions from Odisha, the US, and Maharashtra. All were sitting by the canal, playing guitar, and stargazing.

During this time, three men on bikes approached them and asked for directions to a petrol pump. When the homestay owner informed them that there was no petrol pump nearby, they demanded money. When the group refused, the perpetrators started to misbehave and assault them.

Assault and Rape of the Victims

The homestay owner told the police that the attackers pushed the male tourists into the canal. While they struggled to get out of the water, two of the attackers raped the homestay owner and the Israeli tourist. This Hampi Rape incident is a shame to humanity.

According to the FIR, the accused dragged the homestay owner to the side of the canal, where one tried to strangle her and tore her clothes. Then, two attackers beat and raped her. They also stole her bag, containing two mobile phones and 9,500 rupees in cash.

Similarly, the third attacker dragged the Israeli tourist to a secluded spot and raped her. Afterward, the three attackers fled on their motorbikes.

One Person Dead

Pankaj from Maharashtra and Daniel from the US managed to get out of the canal and are currently being treated at a government hospital. However, the tourist from Odisha could not get out of the canal, and his body was found this morning. This incident made the Hampi Rape case more serious.

Police Action

Senior police officer Lokesh Kumar stated that all four victims have alleged sexual assault and have been sent for medical examination. Police and fire department officials were searching for the missing tourist, while a special police team is attempting to apprehend the suspects.

An FIR has been registered in the case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 309(6) (theft of extortion), 311 (robbery with intent to cause death or serious injury), 70(1) (gang rape), and 109 (attempt to murder).

Now that the body of one of the male tourists has been recovered, details of the murder are expected to be added to the FIR. The police are seriously investigating the Hampi Rape case.
