The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested Ranya Rao on Monday evening upon her arrival at Bengaluru International Airport from Dubai. Reports suggest that she attempted to evade security checks by leveraging her relationship with her DGP father. After the discovery of ₹12.56 crore worth of gold on her person, she was taken into custody. Subsequently, DRI officials also raided her Bengaluru home in the posh locality of Lavelle Road.
