Aakhir Tak – In Depth
As the US presidential election draws near, more than 30 million voters have already cast ballots through early voting. Early voting allows people to vote before Election Day, helping them avoid long lines on November 5. This year, Republican Donald Trump faces Democrat Kamala Harris in a heated race.
India Today visited a voting station in Fairfax County, Virginia, where both Trump and Harris supporters have set up booths to offer sample ballots and voting guidance. One Trump supporter believes Trump possesses the strength to lead, while a Harris supporter admires her empathy and dedication to American democracy.
Key issues such as inflation and immigration are heavily influencing voters. A Trump supporter cited inflation as a major concern, pointing to rising costs, including a 700% hike in car insurance. Meanwhile, a Harris supporter voiced fears over the state of democracy and emphasized the importance of choosing a compassionate leader.
