Aakhir Tak – In Depth
A 24-year-old woman, identified as Fatima Khan, was detained from Ulhasnagar in Thane, Maharashtra, for allegedly threatening Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with death. The police revealed she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology but is mentally unstable. The threat, received by the Mumbai Police Traffic Control Cell on Saturday evening, demanded Adityanath’s resignation within 10 days or he would be killed like former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique.
The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) tracked down the woman and coordinated with local police for an inquiry at her residence. Following initial questioning, she was taken to Mumbai but was not formally arrested, only issued a notice as confirmed by a senior IPS officer. Authorities are also planning to conduct a mental health evaluation.
The security around Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been strengthened following the threat. Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12 outside his son’s office. This incident follows another recent threat where a man was arrested for targeting Bollywood actor Salman Khan and MLA Zeeshan Siddique, demanding a ransom.
