Aakhir Tak – In Depth
After being denied a ticket for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, Shinde Sena MLA Shrinivas Vanga’s disappearance has raised concerns in political circles. On Sunday, Vanga’s ticket was revoked, and former MP Rajendra Gavit was named as the Palghar constituency candidate. Soon after, Vanga’s phone went off, and his location remains unknown. Police are conducting a search as family and supporters fear for his safety.
On Monday, Vanga expressed regret for leaving Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, remarking that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had failed to protect loyal party members. Following an alliance understanding with the BJP, the Shinde Sena replaced Vanga with Gavit. Meanwhile, the BJP has nominated Hemant Savara for the same seat.
The 42-year-old Vanga stated that leaving Uddhav’s Sena was a mistake. Maharashtra’s 288-member Assembly elections are set for November 20, with vote counting on November 23, just before the current term ends.
