Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of extensive corruption and demanded a thorough investigation into the schemes launched during their tenure. Reddy criticized BRS leader T Harish Rao for false statements and highlighted numerous instances of alleged corruption.
Allegations of Corruption Under BRS
Reddy accused the BRS of “looting crores meant for the poor,” citing various scandals. He mentioned the Outer Ring Road sale for a meager amount of Rs 7,000 crore and alleged massive corruption in the sheep distribution and Batukamma saree distribution schemes. “The previous government exploited women’s sentiments,” he claimed.
Demand for Investigation
Reddy called for an investigation into the BRS’s schemes, particularly focusing on the Kaleshwaram project. He challenged the BRS’s claims about land sales under the Congress government and pointed out the lack of development in Palamuru and Rangareddy districts despite significant expenditure.
Countering BRS Claims
Reddy rebutted BRS’s accusations regarding land deals, stating he is willing to disclose land deal data from the previous regime. He emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in addressing the alleged corruption and mismanagement.
