Following India’s recent Test series loss to New Zealand, former coach Ravi Shastri has come out in support of Gautam Gambhir, urging patience and suggesting that Gambhir deserves more time in his new role. Shastri advised fans to remain calm, emphasizing that Gambhir’s journey as head coach has just begun with Team India. India’s loss marked the first time in 12 years they have lost a home Test series, stirring disappointment among fans.
India conceded the series after losing back-to-back Tests in Bengaluru and Pune. In the second Test in Pune, India was bundled out for 156 in their first innings, conceding a lead of 103 runs. New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner took seven wickets in the first innings and six in the second, dismantling the Indian batting lineup.
