The ordeal reportedly began in December 2022, while the student was residing at a hostel in Kanpur. Biology teacher Sahil Siddiqui allegedly invited her to his friend’s flat for a New Year’s celebration, where he was the only one present. According to the student, Siddiqui spiked her drink with a sedative and assaulted her.

The student alleged that Siddiqui held her hostage in his flat for six months, repeatedly assaulting her.
