A harrowing case has emerged from Kanpur, where a 17-year-old NEET aspirant was allegedly held hostage and raped by two teachers. Police have confirmed that the teachers blackmailed her with a video recording and intimidated her into silence.
Incident Background
The ordeal reportedly began in December 2022, while the student was residing at a hostel in Kanpur. Biology teacher Sahil Siddiqui allegedly invited her to his friend’s flat for a New Year’s celebration, where he was the only one present. According to the student, Siddiqui spiked her drink with a sedative and assaulted her.
Pattern of Abuse and Intimidation
The student alleged that Siddiqui held her hostage in his flat for six months, repeatedly assaulting her. He reportedly recorded a video and used it to coerce her into silence by threatening to release it online. A few months later, Chemistry teacher Vikas Porwal also allegedly assaulted her, worsening her trauma.
Police Action
After finally gathering the courage, the student reported the incident to the Kalyanpur Police Station. The police took swift action, registering a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 328, 376(2)(n), 344, and 506, as well as under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Both accused teachers were subsequently arrested.
