In Chandigarh, a madrasa teacher has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old student. The accused, 24-year-old Mohammad Salik, is from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
This case came to light when the victim informed his family about the incident, prompting them to contact the police immediately. According to reports, Salik called the boy to his room and asked him to massage his legs before inappropriately touching him.
The incident was reported on Friday. The boy has undergone a medical examination, and his statement has been recorded.
The police are investigating whether Salik has been involved in similar incidents before. Statements have also been collected from madrasa staff. He has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Chandigarh Police has taken prompt action taking the matter seriously. The incident has emerged as a warning against the increasing sexual crimes against children in the society. The officers are investigating the matter in depth so that the accused can be given appropriate punishment.
