Aakhir Tak – In Depth
The Karnataka High Court has granted interim bail to Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is currently in prison in connection with the alleged murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy. The court has provided six weeks of bail on medical grounds, allowing him to undergo spine surgery.
Darshan, named in the chargesheet for his alleged role in the murder, requested bail on health grounds due to numbness in both feet. His legal team submitted medical reports to the court, seeking permission for a private facility in Mysuru where Darshan plans to fund his own treatment. This temporary relief follows his petition highlighting his deteriorating health, with the court requiring compliance with any conditions set.
In June, Darshan was arrested along with others related to Renukaswamy’s murder and initially held in Bengaluru prison. Due to allegations of receiving special treatment, he was later transferred to Ballari Prison.
