Jaishankar Criticizes Rahul Gandhi: Life Requires Hard Work
In a recent event in Geneva, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made a pointed remark aimed at Rahul Gandhi. Jaishankar emphasized that life is not ‘khata-khat’ (an easy task) but rather requires hard work and dedication. Gandhi had used the term ‘khata-khat’ during the Lok Sabha elections to describe his promise of swiftly transferring money into women’s accounts if Congress came to power.
Addressing the Indian community, Jaishankar stated, “Until you build infrastructure and human resources, it’s hard work. Life is not ‘khata-khat’; life demands hard work and diligence.” He further added that anyone who has worked in a job understands the necessity of hard work.
Gandhi’s ‘khata-khat’ phrase had become a social media trend and was even used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to criticize the Congress for alleged developmental shortcomings during the UPA era.
Jaishankar also stressed the importance of developing manufacturing capabilities to become a major global power. “Can you truly be a major power without manufacturing? A major power needs technology, and you can’t develop technology without advancing manufacturing,” Jaishankar explained.
Recently, Rahul Gandhi mentioned during an interaction at the University of Texas that China’s dominance in global manufacturing had shielded it from an unemployment crisis, a challenge faced by India and many Western countries.
