The 2024 Hurun India Under-35 list has spotlighted some of the most successful young entrepreneurs across the country. Among the top names are Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani, and Alakh Pandey, recognized for their remarkable contributions to their respective industries.
The list celebrates 150 entrepreneurs aged 35 or younger from across India, marking their achievements in sectors ranging from retail to tech startups. Hurun’s release mentioned that the list highlights entrepreneurs with a minimum business valuation of USD 50 million for first-generation leaders and USD 100 million for next-generation leaders.
Isha Ambani, non-executive director at Reliance Retail, and Parita Parekh from Toddle, were acknowledged as the youngest women on the list. At 32 years old, Isha Ambani is one of India’s most influential business figures, while Parita Parekh, also 32, leads the education technology space through her platform, Toddle.
The 2024 Hurun India Under-35 list also features other female entrepreneurs, including Aneri Patel, Aneesha Tiwari, and Anjali Merchant, all continuing their family businesses. Saloni Anand, aged 34, was noted for her contributions to the hair care industry through her company, Traya Health.
Ghazal Alagh, aged 35, CEO of Mama Earth, was also recognized for leading her startup to go public, setting a benchmark for aspiring female entrepreneurs.
One of the key highlights from the Hurun report is that 82% of the entrepreneurs on the list are first-generation business leaders. Out of 150 entrepreneurs, 123 have built their companies from scratch, reflecting India’s dynamic entrepreneurial spirit.
Ankush Sachdeva, 31, co-founder of ShareChat, was recognized as the youngest entrepreneur on this year’s list. ShareChat has rapidly grown to become one of India’s most popular social media platforms.
Bengaluru and Mumbai lead the list as the top cities with the most young entrepreneurs, representing 29 and 26 entrepreneurs respectively. These cities continue to drive India’s innovation and startup ecosystems across a range of industries.
The financial services sector had the highest representation with 21 entrepreneurs, followed by the software and services sector, which had 14 entrepreneurs. This underscores the growing demand for digital solutions and fintech in India.
