Opposition Unity on Display
Hemant Soren took the oath as Jharkhand Chief Minister on Thursday at Morabadi Ground, Ranchi. The swearing-in ceremony turned into a significant show of unity among Opposition parties. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath.

Several top leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, MK Stalin, and Tejashwi Yadav, attended the ceremony. AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal was also present, reflecting the strength of the INDIA bloc.
Comeback After ED Case
Earlier this year, Soren faced arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money-laundering case. Despite this, he led a resounding victory for the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and its allies, securing 56 out of 81 Assembly seats.
Cabinet Formation Ahead
Following his oath, Soren is expected to finalize the distribution of portfolios among coalition partners. According to constitutional guidelines, the cabinet cannot exceed 12 members. The Congress is likely to receive 4 positions, RJD 1, and the Left parties 1.
