Liri’s Abduction During October 2023 Attack
Liri was among six surveillance soldiers abducted by Hamas during their attack on Israel in October 2023. The assault on the Nahal Oz military base near the Gaza border left 15 soldiers dead. Of the six captured soldiers, one was later rescued, one was killed, and four remain hostages.
Family’s Emotional Appeal
The Albag family released a statement, describing the video as “heartbreaking.” They appealed to PM Netanyahu for swift action, saying, “Act as if your own children were trapped there.”

Under immense pressure from hostage families, PM Netanyahu reiterated his commitment to securing the hostages’ release. “Anyone harming our captives will bear full responsibility,” he warned. Israel has sought international mediation to expedite hostage negotiations.
