Fake Currency Notes Featuring Anupam Kher’s Face Seized in Gujarat, Actor Reacts “Anything Can Happen”
In a bizarre incident, counterfeit currency notes worth approximately Rs 1.6 crore were seized in Gujarat, but with a surprising twist—these Rs 500 notes featured Bollywood actor Anupam Kher’s face instead of Mahatma Gandhi’s. The discovery has left many in shock, and Anupam Kher himself reacted with amusement by sharing a video on his social media. The actor captioned his reaction, saying, “My photo on Rs 500 notes???? Anything can happen.”
The fake currency notes were recovered by the Ahmedabad police after a bullion trader, Mehul Thakkar, was duped by fraudsters. Thakkar lodged a complaint stating that the fraudsters used counterfeit currency to cheat him out of Rs 1.6 crore worth of gold. The counterfeit notes featured not only Anupam Kher’s face but also had the name “Resole Bank of India” in place of “Reserve Bank of India.” The counterfeit currency has gone viral on social media, with many people sharing videos of these notes.
Ahmedabad police have launched an investigation into the matter and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the culprits. The incident has raised concerns about the circulation of counterfeit currency in the region.
Meanwhile, Anupam Kher is preparing for the release of his upcoming movie ‘Emergency.’ He will also be seen in ‘Signature’ alongside Mahima Chaudhry.
