Aakhir Tak – In Depth
The resumption of patrolling in Depsang and Demchok represents a positive step towards ending the four-year standoff between the Indian and Chinese armies. This development follows the long-standing tensions that arose after the 2020 Galwan clash along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). As per the agreement, patrolling will currently only occur during daylight hours, with the number of soldiers and patrol distance adjusted for each task. According to sources, both armies completed the disengagement process, followed by a verification phase. The patrolling arrangements will be decided by on-site commanders, marking a significant effort toward restoring peace and stability in the region.
