Congress has sharply criticized BJP for its leader Ravneet Bittu’s ‘No. 1 terrorist’ remark on Rahul Gandhi. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal stated that the minimum qualification to become a minister in the Modi government has become making personal attacks on Rahul Gandhi.
On Sunday, KC Venugopal strongly reacted to Union Minister Ravneet Bittu’s comments in which Bittu referred to Rahul Gandhi as “the biggest enemy of the country.” Bittu’s statement followed Rahul Gandhi’s remarks during an event in Virginia, USA, where Gandhi spoke about the religious rights of Sikhs, saying, “The fight in India is whether a Sikh will be allowed to wear a turban or not.”
In response, Ravneet Bittu labeled Rahul Gandhi as “the number one terrorist,” sparking a political controversy. Venugopal responded, stating that a democracy thrives only when political parties maintain mutual respect. He emphasized that political opponents should be seen as ideological rivals, not personal enemies.
Ravneet Singh Bittu, who was a three-time MP from Congress, switched to the BJP ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, escalating the tensions between the two parties.
