A suspect in a brutal Bengaluru murder case, where a woman’s dismembered body was found in a refrigerator, was found dead in Odisha’s Bhadrak district. A suicide note recovered near the body sheds light on the incident.
According to the note, Mukti Ranjan Roy, the prime suspect, and the victim, Mahalakshmi, had an argument at her Vyalikaval residence. The confrontation escalated, and Mukti allegedly struck Mahalakshmi on the head, causing her death. The note also indicated that the two shared a close relationship.
Ranjan’s body was discovered hanging in Odisha, and police have registered a case of suicide at the Dushuri Police Station. Authorities also found several personal belongings at the scene, including his bag, laptop, and mobile phone.
Mahalakshmi, employed at a mall in Bengaluru, worked at the same store where Mukti was a manager. Her call records showed frequent communication with Mukti, which heightened investigators’ suspicion.
Since the beginning of September, Mukti had been missing, and his phone was switched off, further raising doubts about his involvement in the murder.
Mahalakshmi’s murder shocked the city, particularly due to its gruesome nature. Her body, cut into 59 pieces, was discovered in a refrigerator at her residence on September 21.
The murder weapon, a sharp object, has not yet been recovered by the police. Bengaluru’s Vyalikaval Police are coordinating with Odisha authorities to continue the investigation, especially after the discovery of the suicide note.
Mukti Ranjan’s death has left many questions unanswered. However, the confession in his suicide note has provided crucial details into Mahalakshmi’s murder. Authorities are now working to confirm the full truth and close the case.
