Bajaj Finance Employee Dies by Suicide: Cites Work Pressure and Salary Deduction
Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh: A 42-year-old Bajaj Finance employee, Tarun Saxena, who worked as an area manager, tragically died by suicide at his home. In his suicide note, Tarun mentioned that his superiors had been pressuring him to meet targets for the last two months, threatening salary deductions if he failed.
Tarun’s body was discovered this morning by the housekeeper. He had locked his wife and two children in a separate room. Upon discovery, the housekeeper informed his brother, who lives nearby. Tarun’s brother arrived, unlocked the room, and helped free his wife and children.
Police have since taken custody of the body and sent it for a post-mortem. Jhansi’s Superintendent of Police, Gyanendra Kumar, confirmed that Tarun committed suicide by hanging himself with a scarf. A suicide note was recovered, where Tarun accused his superiors of harassment and high recovery targets. “Further investigation will be initiated once a formal complaint is lodged by the family,” said the Superintendent.
Family members have alleged that company officials continuously pressured Tarun to achieve collection targets. His cousin, Gaurav Saxena, said, “Tarun was under constant pressure from his company to increase market collections. His salary was deducted when he didn’t meet these targets, leading to immense stress.”
Gaurav added that Tarun had a conference call early this morning with Vaibhav Saxena and Prabhakar Mishra, company officials based in Bhopal, after which he took his own life.
However, Bajaj Finance has yet to respond to these allegations.
The case is under police investigation, and further action is expected once the family files a formal complaint.
