Headless Body of Woman Found on Kanpur-Delhi Highway

A semi-naked and headless body of a woman was found on the Kanpur-Delhi highway in Gujaini, creating a stir in the area. Locals discovered the body on the highway in Kanpur’s Gujaini on Wednesday and immediately informed the police. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigating the incident.

The woman’s identity is yet to be ascertained, and police are actively trying to gather more information. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ravinder Kumar stated that the woman’s bones and teeth were broken, and no mobile phone, bag, or ID card was found near the body.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the preliminary inspection suggests the presence of blunt object marks on her body. The police are investigating the case from both murder and accident perspectives, with the police network activated to collect additional information about the deceased.

Police are also reviewing CCTV footage from around the highway to find clues that might help them make progress in the case. While the immediate cause of death remains unclear, Kanpur Additional Commissioner Harish Chandra noted that the fatality might have been caused by a road accident, potentially involving a large vehicle.

The incident has sparked a political uproar, with opposition parties criticizing the Yogi Adityanath government for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and rising crimes against women. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav called for an impartial investigation into the case and urged the government to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice swiftly.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi also condemned the incident, highlighting the growing threat to women’s safety.
