Indian Doctor Arrested for Recording Nude Videos

A 40-year-old Indian doctor, Oumair Aejaz, has been arrested in Michigan, USA, on charges of committing multiple sex crimes. Authorities have accused Aejaz of recording thousands of nude images and videos of children and women over the past six years. The discovery of over 13,000 videos on a single hard drive, along with 15 other external devices, highlights the extensive nature of his alleged crimes.

Aejaz, who specializes in internal medicine, initially moved to the US in 2011 on a work visa from India. He completed his residency at Sinai Grace Hospital in Michigan before relocating to Dawson, Alabama. In 2018, he returned to Oakland County, Michigan to continue his medical practice, working at prominent hospitals such as Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township and Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc.

Aejaz’s arrest took place on August 8, 2024, following allegations that he installed hidden cameras in various locations, including bathrooms, changing areas, hospital rooms, and even his own home. The cameras reportedly captured disturbing footage of children as young as two years old and unconscious or sleeping women, all in various states of undress.

The investigation into Aejaz’s activities began when his wife provided law enforcement with concerning materials, leading the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office to execute multiple search warrants at his Rochester Hills home. Prior to his arrest, Aejaz had no known criminal history.

On August 13, 2024, Aejaz was formally charged with one count of child sexually abusive activity, four counts of capturing images of unclothed persons, and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard emphasized the extensive and disturbing nature of Aejaz’s crimes, comparing the scale of his activities to those of Larry Nassar, the former sports doctor convicted of sexually abusing young women.

The investigation is expected to take months to uncover the full extent of Aejaz’s crimes, with authorities continuing to explore the possibility that some of the illicit videos were uploaded to cloud storage.
