In a shocking incident in Haryana‘s Naraingarh, a retired soldier allegedly killed five members of his family over a land dispute. The gruesome act occurred in Rator village on Sunday night, as reported by the police.
The accused, Bhushan Kumar, is said to have brutally hacked his family members to death with an axe while they were asleep. The victims include his mother, minor nephew, and niece. After committing the murders, he attempted to burn the bodies but fled the scene before he could be apprehended.
The deceased have been identified as Kumar’s mother, Saroopi Devi (65), his brother Harish Kumar (35), sister-in-law Sonia (32), and their two children, Yashika (5) and Mayank (6). Kumar’s father, Om Prakash, who was also injured in the attack, is currently receiving treatment at the Civil Hospital in Naraingarh.
The incident reportedly stemmed from a longstanding land dispute between Bhushan Kumar and his brother. Preliminary investigations suggest this familial conflict escalated to the point of violence, leading to the tragic loss of lives.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Ambala’s Superintendent of Police, Surinder Singh, visited the scene late in the night. Police teams have been formed to track down Bhushan Kumar, who remains at large. Authorities are conducting raids at various locations to apprehend the accused and further investigate the case.
This incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the severe consequences of unresolved family disputes and the importance of mediation and legal resolution in such matters.
