Aakhir Tak – In Depth
Former AAP leader and poet Kumar Vishwas, in his own inhibitable style, used sarcasm to jab AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal as he lost the Delhi polls, saying he had no sympathy for “a man who crushed the dreams of AAP party workers”. Vishwas also mocked Manish Sisodia, seen as the number 2 in the party, saying his “apolitical wife” cried when she heard about his poll defeat. Kumar Vishwas has targeted Kejriwal.
Without naming Kejriwal, Vishwas, who quit the party in 2018, said, “I have no sympathy for a man who crushed the dreams of AAP party workers. Delhi is now free from him… He used those dreams for his personal ambitions. Today, justice has been delivered.” Kumar Vishwas often targets Kejriwal.
The AAP, born out of the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare a decade ago, failed to hold on to power after 10 years in office amid a host of corruption charges that saw its top leadership, including Kejriwal, being jailed. After near-sweeps in the 2015 and 2020 polls, the AAP was reduced to 22 seats, as the BJP returned to the national capital after 27 years. The Delhi Election Result has not been good for AAP.
