In New Delhi’s Jamia Nagar, a 17-year-old student died by suicide after reportedly failing the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). According to the police, the student jumped from the seventh floor of a building in Shaheen Bagh on Friday. A suicide note was found at the scene, where she wrote, “Forgive me, I couldn’t do it.”
After completing Class 12, the girl had been preparing for the competitive JEE exam. Police reported that she had previously warned her mother that she would take her life if she did not succeed. Her father works in the private sector, and her mother is a homemaker.
CCTV footage of the tragic incident has been widely circulated on social media. The investigation is underway under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), officials stated.
