Union Minister Piyush Goyal expressed deep sorrow over the passing of industrialist Ratan Tata, stating, “His legacy will shine as brightly as his remarkable life journey.” Goyal further added that it was a privilege for him to have known the corporate giant.
In a tweet, Goyal shared his thoughts, saying, “Deeply saddened by the demise of Ratan Tata ji. He was a true nationalist and visionary industrialist. As the former Chairperson of Tata Group, his leadership brought immense pride to India. His determination and humanitarian leadership led the Tata Group to remarkable global expansion, strengthening India’s presence on the world stage.”
He further remarked, “His unmatched dedication to ‘Mother India’ and his contribution to society were recognized through the prestigious Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awards. His philanthropic efforts continued until his last breath.”

Ratan Tata Death: At the age of 86, India’s esteemed industrialist and former Tata Group chairman, Ratan Naval Tata, passed away on the night of October 9, 11:30 PM at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. As the country mourns his loss, politicians, business leaders, and the public are paying their respects. Tata’s body has been placed at NCPA lawns in Mumbai for final tributes before the funeral.
Ratan Tata led Tata Group for over two decades, transforming it into India’s largest and most influential conglomerate. After completing his education at Cornell University, he returned to India in 1962 to join the family-run business. In 1991, he took over the reins from his uncle, JRD Tata, who had led the group for more than half a century.
Throughout his life, Tata received numerous accolades, including the Padma Vibhushan, one of India’s highest civilian honors. Under his leadership, Tata Group executed a series of landmark deals that elevated the company’s global stature. Many political and business leaders have expressed their grief, remembering Tata as a visionary leader.
The funeral will take place later today, with family, close friends, and members of the business community in attendance.
