India’s Message of Peace: ‘Buddha’ Not ‘Yudh’

Two-Nation Tour: Russia and Austria
PM Modi’s remarks came during his two-nation tour, including Russia. In Moscow, he stressed finding a peaceful solution to the Ukraine war during talks with President Vladimir Putin.
Historic Visit to Austria
This visit was the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 41 years. PM Modi described it as “meaningful,” celebrating 75 years of India-Austria friendship.
Common Values and Democracy
“India and Austria, though geographically distant, share many similarities. Democracy connects us,” PM Modi said. He highlighted shared values like liberty, equality, pluralism, and respect for the rule of law.
Cultural Diversity
“Both our societies celebrate diversity. Elections reflect our shared values,” the Prime Minister remarked.
Bilateral Cooperation
In discussions with Austrian leaders, PM Modi explored expanding cooperation in various sectors, including the environment and combating climate change.
Global Disputes
He also discussed global disputes, including the Ukraine conflict and the situation in West Asia.
Focus on Trade and Defence
In Moscow, discussions with President Putin focused on trade, defence, and strategic cooperation. PM Modi reiterated that war is not the solution to longstanding issues.
Return to New Delhi
PM Modi returned to New Delhi on Thursday morning after his tour of Russia and Austria.
