IAF Chopper Makes Emergency Water Landing During Flood Relief Operations
An Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) made a precautionary water landing in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, while delivering relief materials to flood-affected people. The incident occurred after one of the helicopter’s blades broke during flood relief efforts.
Three personnel were on board, including two pilots, as per a report by news agency ANI. A video captured the scene, showing a partially submerged helicopter with locals attempting to safely retrieve food packets from the carrier.
Bihar has been grappling with flooding for the past few days, impacting over 1.1 million people. IAF helicopters have been dropping packets of food and other relief materials. According to the state disaster management department, this operation has benefited more than 200,000 people in the Sitamarhi and Darbhanga districts.
